The successful candidate is a highly motivated recent graduate from a BS/BA program in biomedical engineering, biochemistry, biophysics, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, or related discipline.
The primary role of the job is to assist scientists in preparing and analyzing lipid-based nanoparticle formulations of the drug candidates.
Duties of the job include:
Prepare buffers, solutions, and investigational formulations
Characterize formulations using appropriate analytical techniques such as but not limited to HPLC, optical and fluorescent spectroscopy, particle size and z-potential analysis, and pH
Assist in the routine calibration and maintenance of the laboratory equipment
Maintain research laboratory notebook and contribute to writing reports
Knowledge of analytical techniques/instrumentation is required. Experience with liquid chromatography (HPLC), spectroscopic, and separation techniques is desirable. Knowledge of lipid biophysics would be a plus but is not required. The person will receive training to properly maintain a research laboratory notebook and to follow all safety practices.
Highly motivated. Good verbal and written communication skills required. Record keeping skills are essential. Knowledge of statistics, data processing, and documentation is a plus.
