Job SummaryThe primary focus of this position is research and development of fiber-optic sensor technologies and products for applications in infrastructure monitoring and security. The position requires advanced knowledge of optics and fiber-optics as well as a strong practical background in fiber-optic instrumentation, data acquisition, signal processing, and a sound set of programming skills. The candidate?s role will span all phases of technology development and product lifecycle including designing, developing, testing, supporting, and improving current and future technologies and products. A successful candidate should be a goal-oriented team player and a life-long learner. He or she should have strong analytical skills and the ability to propose creative solutions to complex problems.
Requirements:
? Graduate degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
? 3+ years of experience in research and development
? Advanced knowledge of optics and fiber-optics
? Strong background in test and measurement, data acquisition, and signal processing
? Strong interpersonal and communication skills
? US citizenship or permanent residency strongly preferred
Additional Preferences:
? Experience with optical and fiber-optic sensors
? Experience using National Instrument DAQ tools and programming in LabVIEW
? Experience with signal classification and pattern recognition techniques
? Experience with analog and digital circuit design
? Experience in CC++C# programming
? Advanced technical writing skills
