Update forecast methodology with state of the art techniques
Operational global synoptic scale forecasting
Operational global tropical cyclone forecasting
Operational global medium range forecast development
Qualifications
Possess a graduate degree in atmospheric sciences with strong focus on various dynamical aspects of atmospheric and oceanic circulation patterns, solar and terrestrial influences and resulting impacts on climate on scales from urban to global and from weekly to multi-year
Experience with advanced statistical analysis tools for determining correlations, trends, patterns, and verification of results
Possess strong design, programming and visualization skills necessary to adapt a global long range forecasting model for commercial applications
Proven ability to make skillful weather predictions and relate them in a manner acceptable to commercial industry
Strong written and oral communication skills
