Research Scientist 3 ApoCell
Job Purpose: Responsible for managing and carrying out clinical research projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for managing projects and supervising associated laboratory activities.
Supervise and train laboratory personnel
Adhere to CLIA and GLP SOPs
Adhere to safety protocols
Assure inventory control and retention of reagents and project specimens
Assure all laboratory equipment is in good working order and calibrated
Perform quality control on laboratory processes, results, data, and reports
Act as a Project Manager to track the status of projects in the laboratory
Investigate and correct unexpected events
Prepare project work scope and customer proposals
Participate in R&D activities as needed
Education ? Minimum B.S./B.A. in Science, Biology, or related field; M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent experience is desirable
Specialized knowledge ? biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology, or cell biology is desirable
Skills ? Good organizational, management and people skills. Experience using all analytical instruments used in the laboratory. Good computer skills with mid to advanced level in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe
Abilities ? must be able to communicate effectively with scientists, lab personnel, Project Managers and Company management
Professional Certification ? for specialized instrumentation, as required
Experience ? Eight or more years experience in biotech laboratories
Working Conditions: Job requires some travel and possible long hours and work in the evenings.
Physical Requirements: Although not physically demanding, reasonably good health is required for this demanding position.
