Research Scientist - Algorithms Centice
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED
Summary
We seek a Research Scientist who will primarily be developing and coordinating the efforts on classification algorithms/chemometrics. This individual will work closely with other members of the software team to perform the data analysis of Raman spectra and machine vision image data, including algorithm design, spectra similarity analysis, and abnormal spectrum detection.
This position will also work very closely with our engineering team to help define our product development roadmap. In this role, an understanding of spectroscopy instrumentation design is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with a strong technical team to solve challenging classification problems.
- Responsible for developing the algorithms to discriminate materials based on Raman spectral analysis.
- Develop feature extraction routines with an emphasis on being tolerant to system-system variances.
- Develop and evaluate the performance of new MV features (i.e. color, connectivity, size/shape features).
- Design classification algorithms, test experiments, and analyze the test data.
- Analyze test data, identify and recommend solutions for that will provide a solid path for product implementation.
- Keep abreast of all the latest research developments in the classification algorithms area.
Required Experience
- Strong proven background in statistical analysis, machine learning, or pattern recognition
- 3-5 years of experience in mathematical/statistical modeling and/or signal processing.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of data mining and machine learning techniques such as Discriminant Analysis, Nearest Neighbors, Bayesian Classifier, Regression models etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge with feature dimension reduction techniques such as PCAOrganized and detail-oriented.
- Strong analytical abilities and problem solving skills.
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- Fast learner and self-starter.
- Familiarity with C, C++, SQL is a plus.
- MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Statistics.
