Adchemy is seeking a high-powered, data-driven, research scientist to join our core research team as we enhance and extend our cutting-edge digital marketing platform.
We seek a smart, productive self-starter, who is capable of working effectively in a dynamic environment, both independently and as part of a team. The initial role will be to support our continued growth in the lead generation business through the use of data to drive actionable insights.
Projects are directed by current and anticipated business needs, involve the development of methodologies and prototypes to recommend and automate action, and span a wide range of subjects (sample projects include online allocation of advertising inventory, business analytics for decision making under uncertainty, and click-through-rate estimation).
The ideal candidate has proven ability to conceive, plan, and execute projects from identifying the business need to solution implementation to providing metrics to measure the business impact.
This position will report to the VP Research but will involve significant cross-functional interaction, particularly with engineering, product and business groups.
Responsibilities:
Apply state-of-the-art mathematical modeling and algorithmic techniques in a broad range of online advertising contexts.
Use sophisticated analytical methods to automate existing processes and enable new capabilities.
Build fully scalable prototypes to test new algorithms.
Support analysis efforts of cross-functional teams to address specific business issues.
Required qualifications/education:
Strong background in at least one of the following: linear and non-linear optimization, algorithmic game theory, machine learning, discrete mathematics.
Experience with modern object-oriented programming languages (Python and JAVA a plus)
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
PhD (or M.S. with 3+ years of experience) in Computer Science, Operations Research, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
Experience in one or more of the following areas are plusses:
Industry experience, especially in a consumer internet or online advertising related setting.
Statistical software packages (R, S-Plus, Matlab, SAS, or similar).
Databases and a strong understanding of how data is modeled/organized.
