Research Scientist (Positions available at levels: II and III) Evogen

Evogen, Inc., a rapidly growing, dynamic leader in Molecular Diagnostic platforms is seeking Research Scientists to
provide technical project leadership and technical guidance to develop and commercialize molecular diagnostic
solutions and assist in pursuit of new business opportunities. This will be accomplished by disciplined
laboratory approach in the development of new products, understanding current products, and serving as a
supplemental contact for laboratory/scientific clients. A critical component of this position is in authoring
proposals and technical reports.
Additional responsibilities are:
? Working in a team atmosphere for training to technical staff on procedures and instrumentation.
? Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
? Actively assisting in new business opportunities, authoring proposals and technical reports and
presenting at conferences.
? Serving as supplemental contact for clients and representing Evogen Inc. as a technical expert.
? Reviewing data for accuracy and completeness.
? Managing projects and programs.
? Conducting standard data analysis as directed by project leader.
? Performing peer review of data and reports.
? M.S. in Microbiology plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; or a B.S. in Microbiology plus a
minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
? Proficient oral and written communication skills.
? Experience working in a BSL-2.
? Experience with proposal writing, project management, and instrumentation is desired.
? Proficient PC skills and ability to learn new software and systems.
? Leadership abilities with strong problem solving aptitude.
? Strong Business and Partner Development Skills and a track record of success in these skill sets. ? Ability to effectively communicate expectations, assess client needs, gain acceptance of an
idea/plan/activity/product, and interact with technical staff at all levels in a team-based environment.
? Establishes a course of action to accomplish a specific project or goal; plans proper assignments of
personnel and appropriate allocation of resources; determines schedule of events; communicates
expectations about tasks and deadlines; develops contingency plans.
? Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
? Well organized and methodical, yet flexible in adjusting priorities, and able to take risks to accomplish
? Ability to organize activities and focus on priority goals and problem areas.
? Willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
Final candidates will be required to pass a standard employment background check.
