Research Scientist/Senior Research Scientist - Information Retrieval Adchemy

Adchemy is seeking one or more information retrieval experts to join our Research team. The successful candidates will play pivotal roles in expanding the capabilities, scalability and ease of use of Adchemys revolutionary IntentMap technology. IntentMaps enable online advertisers to turbocharge their search engine marketing campaigns with no increase in their marketing costs.

Members of Adchemys Research team have varied backgrounds covering machine learning, natural language processing, optimization and statistics. The team has a strong learning culture designed to help develop team members skills and expertise. This position will report to the VP Research but will involve significant cross-functional interaction, particularly with business, product management and engineering team members.

Responsibilities:

Apply state-of-the-art information retrieval techniques to support Adchemys and our clients IntentMap-based advertising campaigns.
Work with the Professional Services team to support our clients in their deployment and operation of Adchemys IntentMap technology.
Use sophisticated analytical methods to automate existing processes and enable new capabilities.
Build fully scalable prototypes to test new algorithms.
Work with search engine marketers to tailor algorithmic solutions to address specific business scenarios.
Support the Engineering team in delivering solutions into production.
Support analysis efforts of cross-functional teams to address specific business issues.


Required qualifications/education:

Strong background in the theory and application of set-theoretic, algebraic, and probabilistic modeling techniques as commonly applied to information retrieval.

Familiarity with discriminative and probabilistic methods, text processing, language modeling, and natural language processing.

Experience in Java programming and scripting languages (Perl/Python).

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

PhD in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Econometrics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Experience in one or more of the following areas are plusses:

Applied machine learning skills.
Industry experience, especially in a consumer internet or online advertising related setting.
Familiarity with MapReduce or related methods for large-scale data processing.
