Primary Responsibilities
The Lending Compliance Officer is responsible for supporting compliance oversight of EverBank?s lending activities and to assist business units to ensure business practices and procedures provide a sufficient control environment to manage lending compliance risk.
Performs a lead role related to Compliance Change Management for policy, procedure, training and implementation of new regulatory requirements
Responsible for providing support to the business units regarding day-to-day operational compliance questions.
Responsible for the research of compliance and regulatory developments that affect compliance risk, such as new products and services, geographic expansion, acquisitions, mergers, and changes in financial condition.
Responsible for the on-going review of policies, procedures, and processes for the reporting of training opportunities, gap analysis within lending business units and works with business unit to strengthen areas of concern.
Essential Functions
? Develops and maintains positive relationships within related business units to ensure partnership approach to compliance risk management.
? Researches & communicates all State and Federal Legislation and Regulation updates and changes
? Responsible for communications with business units, in-house counsel and outside counsel (when designated)
? Provides analyses and strategic recommendations to Compliance and Residential Lending senior management.
? Advises the Residential Lending Division on questions regarding policies, processes and regulations.
? Assist Residential Lending Division management in developing and revising policies and procedures.
? Responsible for reporting business unit compliance needs
? Provides operational guidance to the Residential Lending Division related to Compliance processes.
? Researches and summarizes regulatory or legislative changes by drafting clear, concise communications.
? Identifies and professionally escalates matters requiring Compliance management attention
? Facilitates meetings with Residential Lending management to discuss compliance topics.
? Assists with the development of policies and procedures as needed
? Ensures that records are in order and comply with regulatory and internal record retention requirements.
? Special Projects as defined by Compliance Management team
Minimum Qualifications
? Ability to change and grow in a dynamic environment.

? Highly professional verbal communication and presentation skills.
? Highly professional written communication and presentation skills
? Ability to review and communicate compliance research results pertaining to regulatory, investor, agency and corporate policies, procedures and guidelines.
? Excellent technical writing skills
? Detail oriented with good analytical skills and experience.
? Excellent computer skills and strong technical knowledge.
? Current, in-depth working knowledge of the mortgage or consumer lending industry and operations.
? Works well independently and within a team dynamic.
? Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS) - Desktop Underwriter (DU), Desktop Originator (DO), Loan Prospector (LP), etc.
? Knowledge of Mortgage origination and servicing systems
? Knowledge of mortgage loan document preparation systems
? Knowledge of loan document imaging systems
? Experience with MS Office Professional ? Access and PowerPoint skills a plus
? Working Knowledge of RESPA, Reg Z, ECOA, HMDA, UDAAP, Safe Act, GLB and other regulations is a must.
? Strong internet research skills
Training and Experience
? Regulatory Mortgage Compliance experience required
? College Degree preferred; can be offset by with a minimum of 10 years mortgage lending compliance experience.
? Minimum of 7 years Mortgage Lending Compliance experience required, with a minimum of 5 years of mortgage lending experience.
? Project management experience required
? Experience in drafting and reviewing Compliance and business unit policies and procedures.
? Extensive hands on experience with regard to RESPA, Reg Z, ECOA, HMDA, UDAAP, Safe Act, GLB, and other regulations.
