MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responds to inquiries regarding benefits programs and assist with enrollments
Provides clear communication/announcements/updates with regard to employee benefits, new programs or policies and open season activities
Ensures all new employees complete appropriate health and life insurance forms
Provides counseling and assistance to employees in processing required paperwork
Manages the Leave Bank
Meets with employees to review retirement estimates and provide information about specific features of the employees retirement system
Assembles and forward to employees the appropriate retirement packages
Reviews employee's completed package for accuracy and completeness and forward finalized packages to the appropriate Agency officials for final processing
Provides information, calculations, and necessary paperwork for employees who are eligible to make a service deposit (military service deposit, temporary Federal service deposit, re-deposit of refunded service)
Performs all special authority processing including Voluntary Early Retirement (VERA), Voluntary Separation Incentive Program (VSIP), Thrift Savings Plan, and Retirement Conversion
Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years related experience, or six (6) years of related experience without degree.
Must have experience counseling on FERS and CSRS retirement
Must have experience counseling on Health and Life Insurance benefits
Must have experience counseling on Thrift Savings Plan and Long Term Care Insurance
Must have experience performing retirement calculations for FERS and CSRS
Must have experience using PeopleSoft
Must have experience using DFAS to process personnel and/or pay actions
Must have experience with OPM Guide to Processing Personnel Actions
Must be a US Citizen.
