Description
The Revenue Analyst is responsible for the revenue accounting process for assigned areas. This position will perform monthly and quarterly close activities for revenue, reconcile and validate revenue, prepare required journal entries, analyze data, and prepare reports for auditors and management. The Revenue Analyst will interact across geographies with contract administration, sales, legal, professional services, customer support and external auditors. Position reports to the Senior Manager, Revenue.
Primary Responsibilities
Analyze, record and close revenue for assigned areas monthly
Review signed revenue agreements to determine appropriate revenue recognition, based on E2open revenue recognition policy
Maintain deferred revenue schedules and recognition of revenue against agreements
Manage monthly revenue accounting close efforts for assigned areas, including assurance of accurate and timely results and preparation of auditable revenue and deferred revenue account reconciliations
Prepare analytical review of revenue-related accounts for reporting purposes
Maintain contract documentation for assigned areas (including contracts, purchase orders, customer acceptance and other documentation) required for review and audit of revenue
Education and Experience
Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
Current CPA License
Public Accounting Experience, Big 4 preferred
At least 6 years of professional accounting experience with 1 to 3 years relevant revenue recognition experience in the software and services industry and 1 to 3 years additional finance and accounting experience, public company experience a plus
Experience in application of revenue recognition pronouncements and guidance
Software company experience, VSOE/BESP experience preferred
Proficient in Excel
Experience with Great Plains, QuickBooks, Salesforce.com or equivalent software applications
