Revenue Analyst Zillow
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The revenue analyst will report to the Director of Revenue Analytics and will contribute to the scientific advancement of Zilllow?s business and product initiatives working with a cross-functional team of advanced-degreed data miners and data scientists. Focus will be on the most important and complex business problems in Zillow?s market place and advertising space. This role will work closely with sales, product managers and engineering teams to create models and logic for improving inventory forecasting, optimization and yield, for understanding and targeting our audiences; with vertical product managers to model market dynamics and to identify and measure business opportunities in each area; and with business units in turning pilot projects or prototypes into models and algorithms in product platforms.
? Work in a broad capacity: work cooperatively with manager and peers to build a high-efficiency/high-output Data Science community.
? Analytics thought leader ? build thought leadership across business units to promote common best practice in data process and analytical technique, and share insights and findings.
? Data Science - Using a variety of techniques, build models, simulations and analyses to help frame decisions, requirements and designs around key complex business problems; develop, implement, and evaluate complex statistical models to predict or describe behavior and patterns.
? External interactions and partnerships: Work with academia to bring cutting edge thinkers and techniques to bear for our products. Help contribute to the Zillow brand as a thought leader and advanced user of data sciences through white paper publication and conference participation.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
? Hands-on experience as a data analyst working with large Internet and Mobile data sets.
? Experience with digital marketing and advertising a plus.
? Graduate degree in a quantitative field: Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field. Extremely strong quantitative and logical problem solving skills.
? Experience working with other data scientists from across multiple disciplines (Machine Learning, Applied Math, Statistics, Optimization, Economics/Econometrics); Experience partnering with Academia, and consultants in solving complex problems.
? Strong ability to partner and stay open-minded to exchange ideas with other functions
? Proven ability to analytically support/build complex logic and algorithms.
? Experience with supporting platforms development mobile experience a plus.
? Experience working in a dynamic, fast paced, cross-functional environment.
? Ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences in engineering, business, product and executive areas.
? Deep knowledge of classical statistical methods, Bayesian analysis, machine learning and data mining; Expert knowledge of data mining tools Python, R, Matlab, etc. is required. Expert proficiency interrogating relational data bases with SQL and with using, managing workload with distributed computing tools (Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, etc.) is desirable.
