The Revenue Controller is responsible for all facets of invoicing and revenue recognition (including deferred revenue and cost).
Responsibilities:
Improve processes and procedures around invoicing and recording of revenue (including tracking of deferred revenue).
Perform month-end close tasks associated with revenue recognition, including the preparation of deferred revenue reconciliations, validating deferred revenue and preparation of monthly revenue journal entries.
Review customer contracts and document proper revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP.
Work actively with external auditors to ensure that revenue recognition interpretations are consistent and compliant with GAAP.
Support preparation of budgets, including the preparation of necessary supporting documentation.
Provide financial analysis around customer, product, divisional and regional profitability.
Other projects and assignments as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
Advanced Degree in Business or CPA is preferred but not required
5-7 years related experience managing the revenue recognition function in a mid-market business
Proven experience in revenue recognition compliance
Ability to read, analyze and interpret revenue documents and contracts
Knowledge and practical experience of applying ASC 605 and related revenue pronouncements.
Strong problem solving and communication skills
Strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office products and a familiarity with ERP systems (knowledge of NetSuite is preferred but not required).
Keen analytical aptitude and an ability to work on varied assignments under tight deadlines.
