This position?s primary responsibility will be managing the revenue recognition process for the Americas, including maintenance of contracts and customer acceptance documentation, as well as managing a team of revenue accountants. Other responsibilities include performance of various accounting functions, such as financial analysis, accurate and timely recording and reporting of financial results and other financial support.
Responsibilities:
Management of entire revenue recognition process, while ensuring revenue is booked accurately and in accordance to SEC and GAAP guidelines
Deferred revenue analysis
Contract and SOW review
Review new revenue guidance from SEC and FASB
Actively manage month-end closing activities, as well as quarterly and year-end closings
Review and approval of:
Percentage of completion schedules
Deferred COGS adjustments
Purchase price variance analysis
Reconciliations of A/R and Inventory to GL
Journal entries and monthly accruals
Intercompany reconciliations
Coordinate preparation of quarterly and annual audit schedules
Special projects, as required
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Accounting
CPA preferred
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of strong revenue recognition accounting experience, including technical knowledge of Software Revenue Recognition Guidelines, including SAB 101, 104, & SOP 97-2, SOP 98-9 and EITF 08-1 and 09-3
Related cost accounting experience is a plus
Demonstrated ability in performing balance sheet and P&L account analysis
Highly organized, detailed-oriented individual with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure
Advanced knowledge of Excel
Familiarity with Oracle, Business Objects and RevPro is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have experience in managing teams
