The Revenue Manager will be responsible for managing and leading the operational accounting and reporting related to a SaaS business. Manage the revenue recognition process for the business including contract reviews, revenue recognition conclusions, final accounting entries and the monthly close process.
Responsible for professional services revenue month end close (computations, posting, review and reconciliation)
Review professional services and SaaS contracts to determine proper revenue recognition methodology
Provide feedback to the Sales team to optimize contracts negotiation
Prepare worldwide revenue reports
Prepare and post various journal entries related to revenue accounting
Review and analyze deferred revenue, revenue, reserves and adjust as necessary
Prepare schedules for auditors as needed
Supervise a team of 5
Big 4 public accounting experience
Bachelor?s Degree in accounting, CPA + 7 years? experience
Experience in software industry revenue recognition, in particular software as a service model a plus
Strong knowledge of software revenue recognition accounting literature, including SAB 104, SOP 97-2, EITF 08-01.
Ability to understand professional services legal contracts
Experience in public company preferred
Highly detailed and organizational skills required
Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines
Advanced Excel skills (Vlookup, Pivot tables, etc.) required
Experience with Intacct and/or Appirio a plus
