Rework - Repair Technician, Powertrain Mfg Tesla Motors

Position Description



The Rework/Repair Technician will report to the Production Supervisor and will be responsible for rework, and repair of complex electromechanical assemblies. The person in this position is expected to be able to execute their duties using provided manufacturing instructions, test results, schematic diagrams, and mechanical drawings. Experience with hand tools and use of semi-automated manufacturing equipment necessary.



Essential Duties/Responsibilities


Perform complex and precise electro-mechanical debug/rework/repair.

Maintain the inventory integrity of the Material Review Board through diligent record keeping and adherence to process.

Tasks require a high level of skill with a variety of hand tools, precision measuring equipment, and machinery.

Typically involves a variety of operations that require a sufficient understanding of the functional operation of the items assembled as well as the finished product.

Must be able to work from complex and detailed manufacturing documentation and/or verbal and written instructions and specialized fixtures/test equipment.

Collect data; update and maintain records.

Work with Material Review Board (MRB) to support manufacturing.

Identify discrepant materials/components both in writing and verbally to supervisor.

Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times.

Maintain a clean and orderly work area





Qualifications/Skills

High School diploma or equivalent, Associate degree preferred

Minimum of 5 years experience in assembly and/or repair of electro-mechanical components.

Must have working knowledge of high voltage DC battery systems OR basic electronics, and DC electrical systems.

Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions, electrical diagrams, and mechanical drawings.

Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Must be reliable, have good initiative, committed, and quality focused.

Ability to perform repetitious duties while standing for long periods of time.

Ability to lift 30-50 lbs

Ability to maintain a safe working environment.
