Job Description
Azimuth Systems, has an immediate opening for an RF Engineer II. Working as a key member of the
Hardware Engineering team, you will be involved in all aspects of the RF product development
including; architecture, design, simulation, layout, design verification and introduction into
manufacturing. The RF Engineer in this position will work closely with hardware engineers, system
engineers, DSP engineers, embedded software engineers, and test engineering. This is an excellent
position for an engineer who enjoys working on all aspects of product delivery, being connected to
the end customer, and delivering solutions at the highest performance level.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:
? Works closely with senior engineers in the development of new hardware, supporting existing
hardware, evaluating and testing off-the-shelf and custom RF modules, analysis and resolution of
manufacturing and customer issues.
? Participates in the design and develop of high performance, multichannel, commercial RF
hardware operating up to 6GHz.
? Perform all phases of RF hardware development including; System architecture, design,
component selection, schematic capture, PCB design, BOM creation, test and debug.
? Performs module and system simulations and analysis including Spurious Analysis, Noise figure
analysis, Phase Noise Performance Prediction, and Filter Performance.
? Design for manufacture of commercial RF modules.
? Perform RF measurements and characterization of modules, circuits, and components.
? Create detailed RF test plans both at the module and system level.
? Development of alignment, calibration and automated test algorithms.
? Demonstrated ability to work well within a cross-functional team and mentor others.

Qualifications
? MSEE preferred / BSEE or Physics Required.
? A proven track record of at least 5 years performing all phases of commercial RF hardware
development including; specification, schematic capture, PCB design, BOM creation, and
hardware test and debug.
? Experience building and testing system and board level hardware including RF transceivers,
matching networks, RF front ends, digital down/up conversion and complete RF systems
operating up to 6GHz.
? Understanding of RF technologies employing active RF circuits containing mixers, switches, RF
amplifiers, transmitters, detectors, phase control, filters, combiners, attenuators, and other
building blocks required.
? Knowledge of power sub-systems, digital circuitry, clocking networks, FPGAs, and their effect
on RF circuitry in a mixed technology environment.
? The candidate should have proven experience developing and releasing product to
manufacturing with a solid understanding of manufacturing methods, emissions and regulatory
testing, and all steps necessary for a successful launch to manufacture.
? Experience with one or more of the following is very desirable: DSP, wireless transmission and
channel models, digital communication, and telecommunications standards such as LTE, 3GPP,
or OFDM.
? Experience with test equipment such as Signal Analyzers, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers,
Network Analyzers, Base Station Emulators and other equipment associated with the design and
development of Cellular Radio Access Network products.
? Exposure to TCL and automated RF testing a definite plus.
? Experience with DxDesigner and Orcad Schematic Capture and PADS or Allegro PCB.
? Exceptional organizational skills: planning, follow-through, ability to manage details.
? Experience working in a startup environment a plus.
? Ability to learn and explore new technology areas and applications.
