The ideal candidate for this position has obtained an electrical engineering degree and has at least 2 years professional experience. The candidate will primarily be responsible for testing ThingMagic products to ensure compliance with specifications produced by various regulatory bodies (FCC, KCC, ETSI, EPC Global, etc.) worldwide. He/she must have an excellent understanding of the various regulations applicable to RFID hardware and software products to determine applicability, test methods and procedures, and compliance requirements. A solid understanding of RF fundamentals and measurement techniques is required.
Excellent documentation and communication skills are required as the candidate will be expected to suggest and integrate improvements into the current test methods. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring and communicating regulatory changes and updates. She/he will work with outside vendors and internal staff to ensure compliance.
The ThingMagic division of Trimble, located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, specializes in RFID (radio frequency identification) readers, sensors, and other embedded and low cost computing technologies. Skills Required:
Ability to examine regulatory specifications and derive test cases from them.
Proficiency with using the following test and measurement equipment: RF Power Meter ; Spectrum Analyzer ; Oscilloscope; RF Signal Generator .
Proficiency with a scripting language such as Python, PHP or LabVIEW is a plus .
Proven ability to work independently .
Proven ability to work on multiple projects within set deadlines.
