Due to rapid and continuing expansion, we currently seek to hire an RFIC Engineering Manager to oversee and manage our engineering efforts in San Diego, California. This individual will lead our product development team composed of highly talented engineers responsible for designing state-of-the-art, high quality RFICs and Front End Modules (FEMs) in advanced semiconductor technologies such as GaAs, SiGe, and CMOS. This individual will lead RFIC Engineering efforts that involve employees in Southern California and Korea. We are looking for a technical leader who will exemplify teamwork and innovation.
Roles & Responsibilities
? Solid understanding and experience in PA, switches design.
? Proven ability to debug and optimize power amplifiers, switches and Front End Modules in the lab using standard lab equipment with experience and understanding of device and/or product characterization.
? Experience in transistor-level RF simulation techniques and verification in ADS and/or Cadence-based design flow (or equivalent tools).
? Experience with advanced EM simulation tools such as Cadence, Spectre, Momentum, SemCad, CST, Matlab.
? Experience designing in GaAs and/or SiGe and/or SOI CMOS technologies highly desirable.
? Develop RF/microwave/mixed-signal ICs from concept to circuit design/simulation, and layout.
? Coordinate RF/microwave/mixed-signal IC prototyping.
? Verify and evaluate prototype IC.
? RF Board design, prototyping and verification.
? Product Design and Evaluation: Schematic Capture, IC layout, Simulation, Package Analysis, Evaluation Board Design, Design Validation
? Ability to travel (approximately 20% of the time) including occasional international travel to interface with customers.
Knowledge, Skill and Competency Requirements
? Proven experience successfully leading technical design teams with a solid understanding of RF design architecture and RF IC integration.
? Prior technical design leadership and proven management experience with a track record of instilling team work, collaboration and on-time delivery of innovative technical solutions that provide differentiation for tier one customers.
? Minimum of 5 years prior corporate engineering and management experience overseeing technical analog and/or RF Integrated Circuit (RFIC) design engineers as well as support team members.
? BSEE with 15+ years, or MSEE with 12+ years or PhD EE with 9+ years design experience of power amplifiers and/or RF products in a commercial product development environment.
? Self-starter with excellent written and oral communication skills
? Willingness, desire and ability to mentor other engineers in the group.
? Solid project management and effective decision making abilities.
? Ability to work cohesively and instill teamwork while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced small team environment.
