RFP Team Leader/RFP Writer DFA Capital Management

Job Description:

This position will be responsible for managing the process for completing Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP), Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQ) as well as managing other similar requests. This candidate will also be responsible for the maintenance and updating the data response repository.

Essential Responsibilities ?

Gather, analyze and write marketing information required to answer RFP?s.
Research and respond in a timely manner to requests from multiple sources within the firm.
Create high quality and accurate answers for institutional products.
Compile questions that cannot be answered from content available and seek internal guidance.
Work with team members to create customized answers for proposals.
Ensure consistency of look and feel of RFP?s relative to our branded style template.
Interact with subject matter experts to obtain specialized data or content.
Complete final production phase of RFP which may include conversion of document to PDF format or coordination of distribution and mailings.
Answer ad hoc request as needed.
Other writing projects as assigned.
Work with team to create a database of standard language to describe/explain, sell and service specific strategies.
Liaison with external service providers and counterparties as needed.
Manage and maintain data response repository.


Maintain records of RFP activities and report activity and results monthly to management. Develop relationships from within all of Conning to be aware of new products, changes and enhancements of existing products and services to leverage materials in a way to develop and enhance Conning?s market?s potential.

Ideal candidate has at least three years experience working in the financial services industry, preferably with an investment adviser, broker dealer, auditor or consulting firm.
Knowledge of insurance industry a distinct plus.
Team leadership experience.
2-3 years of proven RFP writing experience.
Strong reasoning ability (i.e. capacity to understand inner workings of investment strategies, explain them simply, and spot inconsistencies/errors in language and data used to represent them).
Experienced in writing RFP?s and maintaining a data response repository.
Strong working knowledge of investment products
Exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Able to maintain sound judgment and professionalism under pressure.
Consistent, prompt follow through and able to meet deadlines.
Able to balance long-term projects against daily tasks.
Must be willing and able to follow directions, plus seek help as needed.
Superior skill with Microsoft Office applications required.

Must use good judgment and critical thinking skills. Collaborating with internal resources is essential to timely decisions and professional responses with or without the Sales Executives? approval. Errors in judgment or unauthorized disclosure of firm information could result in Conning being found negligent and/or fined. Errors of this type could be reported to the SEC and could impact future business; violations must be disclosed to future prospects if Conning is cited by the SEC.
