We maintain a safe buying and selling environment by effectively enforcing buyer and seller protection policies, reviewing transaction disputes and providing exceptional support after difficult customer experiences.
About the Job
The Risk Operations Team is charged with safeguarding Etsy and its community from financial harm. On a daily basis, the team protects Etsy by conducting transaction reviews, and vetting prospective and existing sellers for credit risk and identifying unusual system-wide activity including collusion fraud and potential money laundering. In addition, the Risk team analyzes larger activity patterns to develop and modify fraud detection rules and systems. This is a cross-disciplinary position that requires exceptional judgment, well-developed critical thinking and communication skills, and the ability to operate in ambiguous and unfamiliar situations. Because of the sensitive nature of this position, candidates must pass a background check prior to appointment.

? Have proven experience managing an operations team.
? Prepare daily schedules ensuring rapid response times are met via email.
? Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
? Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports to track team progress toward goals.
? Monitor the team?s work for quality assurance.
? Provide feedback to your team to help them be successful at Etsy.
? Empower your team to be authentic and to do great things.
? Help your team set clear expectations for our members and over-deliver on our commitments to them.
? Be willing to laugh at yourself.
? Keep an open, friendly, and supportive attitude.
Etsy is the marketplace we make together. We have 25 million members in over 200 countries. In 2012, our sellers grossed more than $850 million in sales. Our mission is to reimagine commerce to build a more fulfilling and lasting world.
We're empowered and expected to be ourselves, share our ideas and figure out what we can each do to keep Etsy evolving. We have full company-paid benefits, including family and domestic partner benefits, humane working hours, couches, quiet spaces, lunch twice a week and handmade desks.
We're growing rapidly and are well-funded with a proven business model and established revenue to help us continue serving our community.
If you're interested in joining the team at Etsy, please send a cover letter along with your resume telling us what inspires you about Etsy and why you think you are the perfect person to help us. As you?ve probably guessed, Etsy is a place that values individuality and variety. We don?t want you to be like everyone else, and we don?t even want you to be like us?we want you to be like you. So write to us, in your own human voice, and tell us what you?re all about. What gets you up in the morning? What excites you? What throws your whole day off and causes you to pull your hair out? Feel free to point us to any online presence you may have (Twitter, Facebook, rap sheet), and if you write, draw or practice a craft, that means something to us, and we would love to hear about it when you write.
