Risk Team, Software Engineer Xoom

We are looking for talented software engineers to help us strengthen our world class risk prevention and mitigation systems in order to successfully combat cybercrime.
In this versatile role, you will be responsible for helping shape the future of mission critical risk systems. You will be collaborating closely with engineering, product, and operations to design and develop features for our highly complex and heavily distributed risk environment.
Qualifications:
Solid object oriented design and programming background
Strong Java technology knowledge with emphasis on core Java API and open source packages
Advanced SQL skills
Proficient working on Unix systems
Ability to turn requirements into successful technical solutions
Logical thinker with sound analytical skills
Passion for developing code by writing effective mock, unit and integration tests first
Good understanding of open source frameworks and when to use them and when not to use them
Good written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Willingness to learn and grow within the organization
Hands-on experience with data gathering and transformation using SQL and XML
Experience in troubleshooting applications using Unix tools, Splunk, Cacti and common sense
Eager to search and explore new libraries and technologies as opposed to reinventing the wheel
Relentless attention to detail
Comfortable working with REST, JSON and other web service concepts
Kudos for experience with noSQL solutions, e.g., MongoDB, Elastic Search, Neo4J, Redis
Desired:
Experience with online fraud and anti cybercrime tools and services
Knowledge of financial systems
Experience with regulatory compliance in finance
Background in statistics, quantitative data analysis or data-mining
Education:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical training and professional work experience
