Author Solutions is seeking a Royalty Specialist for our Corporate office in Bloomington, Indiana.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of royalty processing, holding primary responsibility for the timely preparation of sales data for payment and sales reporting. The specialist must be very adaptable as they will work with several different areas of the company including Marketing, IT, Customer Service, Accounting and other areas as applicable. The specialist will be acquiring, reviewing, and processing sales data for royalty calculations. The specialist will also assist the finance team with the review of monthly royalty and sales analytics in advance of presentation to the management team, as well as other routine audits of data integrity. Other functions will include coordinating with check printing vendors, maintaining appropriate stock of materials for internal printing and mailing, determining FX rates, and aiding customer service with royalty inquiries. Additionally, the specialist will work with the Distribution Services Manager in identifying regular reviews of the entire royalty process and providing suggestions for improvement.
Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Acquire and organize numerous monthly/quarter distributor sales reports from a variety of sources.
Standardize vendor sales reports (using automated tools and manual processing) and prepare data for import into royalty processing system.
Monitor and manage 3rd party check printing relationships, and create necessary files for vendors in coordination with accounting team.
Determine the needed supplies and resources for each quarter?s royalty payments.
Routinely review quarterly royalty processing schedule with Distribution Services Manager to identify any potential obstacles, and develop solutions for any changes in the timeline.
Ensure that the data used to calculate royalties is accurate, complete, and maps to our processing system.
Work in multiple database systems to gather information relevant to the royalty process, creating new report formats as required.
Assist with royalty payment analytics in coordination with the financial reporting team.
Respond to internal teams regarding royalty-related concerns in a timely manner.
Complete manual royalty calculations for special sales programs on a quarterly basis.
Consolidate all quarterly data in an organized manner and store for future period review.
Communicate regularly with customer service teams to ensure accurate and appropriate information is provided to authors.

High school diploma required.
Community College or University degree preferred.
Minimum Skills Required:
Must have at least two years? experience.
Superior knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook e-mail, Internet use, and typing skills at 50 wpm.
The Royalty Specialist reports to the Senior Manager, Global Distribution Services. The core work schedule is 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with frequent flexibility for start and ending times. Additional hours and/or overtime may be required depending on position and needs of the business.
