Headquartered in Davis, CA and venture capital-backed, Marrone Bio Innovations (MBI), discovers, develops, and markets effective and environmentally responsible natural products for pest management in ag and water.
We are currently looking for a Safety Coordinator to join the MBI team. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and improving safety at MBI. The individual hired for this position will write and implement procedures and processes to reduce the risk of accidents and work-related injuries, ensure companywide compliance to OSHA requirements, and develop and manage reports to the MBI management team. The Safety Coordinator will analyze workforce accidents and injuries to determine where process changes, communication, or training needs improvement and will recommend and implement program changes where necessary.
Responsibilities and Duties
Ensure all process and procedures necessary to comply with OSHA requirements are implemented and up-to-date.
Provide all necessary and appropriate safety training to MBI employees.
Develop and provide on-site training to staff on safety topics such as ergonomics, driving safety, personal protective equipment, and lifting/back safety. Provide training on safety practices and policies, accident prevention techniques, and accident reporting.
Issue guidelines and directives to the MBI staff and ensure that the guidelines and rules are properly followed.
Provide consultation, guidance, and technical assistance on matters related to workplace safety and security, including assisting in the design and development of new work spaces.
Serve as safety resource to all departments and assist departments in complying with appropriate safety standards.
Lead the MBI Safety Team and monthly safety meetings.
Perform regular audits of the effectiveness and compliance of MBI?s safety program.
Prepare company for safety audits and act as a liaison between the company and OSHA representatives.
Investigate all work place accidents, injuries, and near-misses and determine where process changes, communication, or training needs improvement.
Maintain all appropriate records and data to comply with OSHA requirements and guidelines.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures, and report all unsafe activities to appropriate supervisor
Participate in efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skill
Perform other duties as assigned
Travel may be required to our Michigan facility
