Job Purpose:
Plans and coordinates Company Health and Safety programs. Evaluate and control conditions leading to occupational hazards. Provides day-to-day support in all matters related to health and safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor and uphold Company?s health and safety standards in accordance with OSHA regulations, state and any other applicable laws/regulations.
Adheres to the Company Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP).
Works with Safety Director to develop and implement safety programs and policies to prevent chemical, physical and biological hazards in the facility.
Performs field and safety measurements, safety evaluations and hazardous waste evaluations.
Under the direction of the Safety Director, the Coordinator will survey, compile and analyze data relating to occupational and environmental health issues, such as chemical exposure, radiation, smoke, fumes, noise, temperatures, gases, solvents, ergonomics, etc. Coordinator will make recommendations regarding control measures for exposure to hazardous materials or conditions.
Provides input to hazardous material communications and maintains material data sheets.
Observes and directs workers engaged in field/lab to be in compliance of health regulations.
Provides immediate response to work related incidents.
Maintains program and record system to track and evaluate work related injuries.
Maintains a working knowledge of new developments within the industry, as well as government regulations.
Conducts training of workers on issues related to health and safety.
Examines plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to determine if all safety precautions have been employed. Evaluate workers with use of new machinery and equipment to identify potential hazards.
Tours work sites to inspect equipment, machinery and facilities. Identify and correct hazards in compliance with safety regulations. Conduct air quality tests for presence of harmful gases or vapors.
Evaluates requirements for PPE and devices.
Skills/Qualifications/Competencies:

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 - 5 years of related experience.
Must be a self-starter.
Highly organized and able to function in an unstructured fluid environment. Must have a keen sense in prioritizing.
Must be an assertive leader, and able to effectively communicate at ALL levels (a strong listener). The ideal candidate will bring about legitimacy and credibility at all levels of the organization.
Mechanical aptitude: strong familiarity and comfort with heavy machinery.
Must have the ability to problem solve, to apply critical thinking, common sense, able to reason and handle stress well.
Must be committed to a high standard of safety, and be willing and able to comply with all safety regulations and Company safety policies.
Must have a positive and professional attitude, be reliable, self-motivated and maintain a strong work ethic.
Must be willing to travel to work locations with little or no advance notice (Domestic/International)
Must be available 24/7.
Strong Knowledge of database software, internet and Microsoft applications.
Preferred Competencies:
-Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)
-Recent drilling and/or oilfield industry experience
-Certification in occupational, health and safety
-Public speaking
Education:
Bachelor?s Degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, bend over, kneel, crouch and crawl.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, lift up to 100 pounds and push/pull/move up to 150 pounds.
This position requires specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to successfully perform all functions of the Human Performance Evaluation (HPE) for this position.
