The market for Usage Based Insurance (UBI) is expected to grow substantially over the next 12-18 months:
The US market is estimated at 1 million vehicles in 2012 growing to 5 million by the end of 2013 (all of the major insurance companies are testing the UBI market ? however no major full scale roll outs yet ? except for Progressive).
Key European markets are also experiencing growth (Italy has 2 million telematics vehicles under subscription and the potential in the UK market is estimated at 60% of auto insurance customers).
Basic Function and Principle Accountabilities:
The Sales Agent will act as an independent contractor and is responsible for developing and engaging new accounts, drawing clients into the business development funnel, and successfully pitching our innovative telematics programs to insurance companies, fleet management companies, government entities, and others. This is an ideal position for someone who is currently consulting selling products or services to the insurance industry. Specifics include:
Responsible for lead generation and closing of sales.
Our service solution can easily be added to your existing portfolio. Training will be provided by DriveFactor.
Responsible for making sales calls and contacts with potential customers, creating a customer base, providing individual attention to potential customers, keeping records of interactions with customers, and growing the existing account base.
Initiate new product development by sharing feedback from customers for our product road map.
Survey market landscape for competitive intelligence and potential partnerships.
Open to any geography if candidate works out of a home or remote office.
Experience with telematics, financial services products, and /or auto insurance, personal lines is required.
Successful execution of this role will require strong thought leadership as well as excellent communication skills with technical and business customers. This role offers significant upside potential in a fast growing market.
Qualifications/Experience:
This position is structured as an independent contractor ? may lead to a permanent position in selected cases;
The ideal candidate is a professional with progressively responsible experience in sales and customer sourcing and business development. Hands-on account development and demonstrated success meeting sales targets is a must.
8-12+ years of sales and business development experience, largely with insurance or telematics products
Excellent oral and written communication skills; Experience selling complex service offering to the C-suite Executive.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, management, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
Track record of building creative, collaborative and highly effective teams.
Undergraduate degree and MBA preferred
