About the Job
Nexant is seeking a Sales Development Manager, this role is remote and can be based anywhere in North America. Preference given to candidates in close proximity to one of the twenty Nexant offices.
Duties and Responsibilities
Identify sales prospects to uncover relevant opportunities
o Generate a defined number of new business opportunities on an ongoing basis, through a variety of sales activities, including: cold calling, independent lead generation, and networking
o Present Nexant?s products and services via web conference and discovery calls to key decision makers and stakeholders utilizing a solution selling approach and a compelling, positive, and professional attitude
o Develop and qualify Sales prospects
o Effectively transition prospects to appropriate Account Executive and ensure knowledge transfer
o Rapidly follow up on and manage new leads and referrals; coordinate with Sales team to ensure they are following up as well
o Excel in connecting customer needs and business drivers to the benefits of our solutions
o Work closely with Director of Demand Generation and Marketing to develop and execute lead generation programs and targeted sales campaigns based on primary utility business & market drivers
o Manage lead assignment and lead-related reporting in Salesforce
o Prepare a variety of status reports, including task reports, follow-up activities, and adherence to goals
o Monitor online RFP databases and maximize our exposure to relevant RFPs
o Develop and demonstrate mastery of Nexant?s products and solutions
o Participate in trade shows and conferences to generate leads
Maintain contact with early stage leads to ensure top of mind awareness
o Regularly contribute to lead nurturing programs within Salesforce for campaign; gather content from Nexant team to ensure prospect interactions are both high-quality and relevant
o Maximize the value from white papers and webinars, coordinating prospect follow-up from these activities.
Enable Sales team to maximize prospect face time, shorten sales cycles & maintain a healthy pipeline
o Assist Sales in scheduling on-site meetings with customers and identifying additional regional prospects on short notice
o Adjust efforts to focus on specific territories, opportunities, and customer segments to help fill in gaps in opportunity pipeline worldwide
o Collaborate with members of Nexant?s Sales team on opportunities as needed; share best practices and other key learning. Contribute to Solution Insights database on a regular basis.
o Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through Sales activity to appropriate company staff
2-plus years of experience selling high technology products and services
