The Sales Development Specialist is responsible for the generation of new sales opportunities using telephone, fax, email and such other communications capabilities that are available within specific territories. These activities include, but are not limited to:
• New account development
• Promotion of specific sales programs
• Qualifying customer leads in an effort to gain an appointment and deliver the leads to the appropriate Market Area Manager.
• Meeting and exceeding lead generation and sales goals
• Such other duties and responsibilities as are assigned so that organizational goals and objectives can be met or exceeded including direct sales to customers
In order to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position, Sales Development Specialists have the following essential functions and major responsibilities:
• Responsible for prospecting and opening new business for assigned territories and for meeting sales targets established by the Company
• Qualifying opportunities by understanding customer needs, budgets, decision-making and competitive products via a consultative sales methodology
• Overcoming competitive sales objections and positioning our products against competition and meeting customers' needs, wants, problems and challenges
• Using tools approved by the Company to demonstrate product and to support the customer with their buying decisions
• Partnering with counterparts in the field to ensure the leads are appropriately enter the sales funnel and that these leads are turned into completed sales
• Preparing and providing such reports as are reasonable and necessary for the profitable operation of the business
Successful Sales Development Specialists should have the following experience, competency and education:
• College degree or related experience and 2-5 years experience in a sales organization
• Experience in working in the automotive dealership market is a plus
• Ability to work in a goal oriented environment under pressure
• Ability to adapt communication style to the targeted audience
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and communications skills
• Confident and polished phone prospecting skills coupled
• Ability to utilize sales force automation systems
