Sales Director, Americas
Reporting to the VP Americas Sales, the Sales Director, Americas, leads the execution of the sales strategy, tactics and personnel management and is accountable for implementation and achievement of business commitments for revenues, gross margin, operating expenses and customer satisfaction.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Create and execute a strategic sales plan to develop profitable sales in the Americas region
Accountable for achieving quarterly and annual revenue targets
Develop and execute tactics to maximize revenues and meet quarterly targets for all company products, applications and services
Works closely with Marketing leadership to execute tactical plans and programs to maximize sales
Develop sales processes and lead implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to improve sales productivity and consistency in achievement of business objectives
Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize resource utilization and maximize business opportunities to achieve sales objectives
Provide accurate sales forecasts
Effectively communicate performance via established metrics through monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
Deliver timely feedback regarding sales, marketing and product development imperatives as to progress, milestones, recommendations and roadblocks to achieve sales goals
Recruit and manage a team of highly talented and motivated individuals with required current and future skills and abilities to achieve growth objectives
Support development, implementation and maintenance of defined compensation and recognition systems to drive appropriate behaviors to achieve sales targets
Maintain development plans for each individual setting clear expectations to maximize performance
Provide specific and timely feedback, and written performance evaluations annually in accordance with company practice
Support development, implementation and selected improvements to training, coaching, and use of sales force automation tools to continuously enhance sales productivity
Ensure consistent utilization of CRM system
Analyze the characteristics and trends in the market and help define customer needs for new or refined products and services
Work with customers, product marketing and other functions to support advancements in strategic direction, new product definition, sales programs, product positioning, and promotional initiatives
Qualifications:
BA/BS or equivalent in Business or Marketing
8-10 years of related industry sales management experience with proven results
Strong sales leadership capabilities
Sales and field execution experience in the software industry with proven ability to define product strategy and development
Experience with server virtualization software, availability software, disaster recovery, backup, or Citrix software products is highly valuable
Strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills
Excellent presentation skills with the ability to present to and influence CXOs and top management in customer enterprises
Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout Americas region
