Job Description:
Sales Engineer is a key sales and technical contributor to the Volicon organization. The sales engineer will work with the Volicon sales organization to provide technical consulting and key account management to build the sales pipeline.
Sales Engineer will focus on all Volicon product lines including Observer, Observer RPM, Observer TS, and related products and services. Following a sale, the Sales Engineer will work directly with the customer to integrate and maintain the Volicon solution until fully functional and provide training for the employees who will use the product. They also maintain contact with their clients to ensure that the clients' needs have been met and to assist them with any additional problems that may arise well after the purchase. The Sales Engineer will work with sales to understand customer requirements, and present relevant and compelling solutions. The Sales Engineer will provide assurances to the potential client that the product will work for what the client requires.
General Tasks and Competencies
Provide on-site installation of Volicon products and provide initial set up and tuning
Develops customer's staff by providing technical information and training
Provide solid project management including: planning and implementation, develop full scale project plans and timelines, constant monitoring, documenting, and reporting on progress of the project to all stakeholders, project evaluations and assessment of results
Provide product live or web based remote demonstrations of Volicon's video and audio enterprise software applications to "C" level managers, Engineers, and end users
Work closely with the Volicon sales team to understand customer requirements and assist sales to develop and present technical solutions.
Lead and or contribute to RPP/RFQs response
Responsible to maintain Volicon on line demo environment
Provide and document customer feedback to Volicon product management and engineering on potential new product features and use cases
Identify current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements
Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering customer questions and requests
Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives

Requirements:
In-depth knowledge of MPEG2 & H.264 digital video, compression, transmission, streaming, and storage applications
In-depth knowledge of video broadcast and video service providers transport systems
In-depth knowledge of IP networks and data delivery through Ethernet networks
Firsthand experience with key customer account ownership and management during the entire sale life cycle
Effective communication and documentation skills
Expertise in Microsoft Windows and Office applications including Visio
Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally
