Sales Engineer, Business Development Axeda Corporation
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Axeda Corporation is looking for a technical Sales Engineer (SE) to serve as a vital technical resource within the Axeda Business Development (BD) team. In this high visibility role, you will be instrumental in helping Axeda build an ecosystem to accelerate growth of the machine to machine (M2M) market.
As a primary responsibility, you will actively manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the BD team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for Axeda solutions. You must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.
The ideal candidate is someone with a technical background in software development who is looking for an opportunity to work directly with customers. You must be self-motivated and comfortable in a dynamic atmosphere focused on existing and establishing new partnerships and sales channels. The SE will work closely with Business Development Executives but will report to the Director of Sales Engineers.
Effectively present Axeda service features and capabilities to both business and technical audiences.
Illustrate Axeda thought leadership and vision in the M2M market and relate how this can create enhanced value for partners.
Conduct technical ?deep dive? sessions with prospects to explain the details of Axeda tools and services and how they can be employed across multiple industries.
Configure and present custom demonstrations that effectively communicate the value of the Axeda solution to prospects.
Lead the development of joint technical and demonstration strategies with partners. Manage Axeda execution of the strategy.
Support the technical evaluation process conducted by prospects. This may include setup of Sandbox systems, technical mentoring, and coordinating proof of concept projects.
Provide training for partner technical sales teams and support their initial sales efforts as required.
Support the technical portions of RFx proposals.
Provide ongoing technical account management for new partners.
Assist in the development and implementation of account plans and strategy.
Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to adjust message to the technical level of the audience
Able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFIs, and when submitting reports
Strong technical skills including experience in software development or selling to software developers
Able to organize and prioritize work in a multi-tasking environment
Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving skills required
Innovative, intuitive, responsive, organized and analytical
Must demonstrate a willingness to learn and have a desire to improve on a daily basis
Ability and willingness to travel - approximately 30-50%
Required Education and Experience:
College degree required with BS in engineering or computer science preferred
Experience with Java programming is required
C++ or .NET programming experience is a plus
3+ years of industry related work experience in technical support, software development or related area
1+ years in a sales engineer role
Experience with enterprise class software applications and infrastructure, Software as a Service, web services, and application integration is highly desirable
