Sales Engineer/Consultant LightEdge Solutions
Position Summary:
As part of LightEdge Solutions team, you will be accountable for the technical design, solution communication and implementation, embracing ?beginning to end? accountability! You will partner directly with the Sales team to architect solutions and conduct informative presentations to educate potential customers on the features and business benefits of LightEdge Solutions products. Additionally, you will serve as a technical resource ensuring the successful implementation of the proposed solution. You will be creating and updating documentation related to client, server, and application engagement utilizing LightEdge Solutions environments. You will provide consultation to customers on integrating industry leading technologies into their infrastructure. This position is accountable for developing knowledge of LightEdge Solutions products, procedures, and technologies. A successful candidate will be one that is energetic, enthusiastic in dealing with customers and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You will report to the Director of Consulting and work closely with the sales team.
Responsibilities:
Perform pre-sales problem analysis/resolution
Work with Sales organization to build solutions to meet customer needs
Oversee and conduct product demonstrations
Develop Bill of Materials, technical details, and labor estimates for projects
Design and install network infrastructures, including equipment, servers and software at client sites
Provide consultation and support through written (e-mail & web response) and verbal (telephone) correspondence
Provide technical details to both Project Management and implementation team
Other projects, tasks, and duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
Minimum 2-4 years functional experience working in a Windows-based server environment
Experience with large scale storage systems (EMC, IBM, Network Appliance, HDS)
Experience with VMware, Xen and HyperV
Knowledge of Citrix or Windows Terminal Server installation, configuration, and administration
Strong understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting
Strong written and oral communication skills
Excellent time management and attention to detail
Strong customer service skills (ability to treat others with respect and empathy)
Basic knowledge of programming (i.e., Visual Basic, C++, .NET, etc.)
Basic knowledge of Microsoft SQL
Microsoft Licensure and hardware resale experience a plus
Business consultation sense (ability to tell the customer what they need, not just answer their questions)
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems preferred or equivalent experience
Preferred skills:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology field or 5-10 years? work experience in Technology field
Creative thinker with ability to solve customer problems leveraging technology
Knowledge or experience with Linux operating system preferred
Knowledge of Server Based Computing preferred
Previous experience in the VAR business is a plus
