The Sales Engineer?s primary role is to support the Sales department giving technical input & providing appropriate Systech-product solutions based on customer needs. This role shall include responsibility for delivery of appropriate automated inspection solution designs, optimal high-level system architecture and equipment selection, integration design of Systech?s proprietary Packaging Execution System (PES) and Serialized Product Tracking (SPT) products. The position is also responsible for the creation and maintenance of the processes, tools and procedures. The position will determine the most appropriate product solutions while adhering to conventions of Best Practices, including standard solutions where possible, to fulfill the customer requirements. This will result in evaluation reports and engineering package standards selections that will enable the sales team to quote the application & the Professional Services group to successfully deploy the solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Propose high-level architecture solutions to meet customer requirements while maintaining commonality with other similar applications.
Responsibility for production and/or approval of pre-sale inspection evaluation reports.
Consultancy for correct choice of hardware platform & solution concepts in support of pre-sales activities.
Provide technical support to the sales team.
Performing and/or ensuring quality execution of Feasibility/Engineering Studies
Responsibility for production and/or approval of solution for active projects.
Help to determine customer requirements such that correct system configuration can be determined prior to quotation.
Production and maintenance of Application Evaluation procedures and Solution Standards libraries.
Familiarization with new product features.
Performance of training on particular SME topics for internal and external clients.
Performance of pre-sale site surveys
Responsible for specifying all new lighting and optics equipment required for non-standard applications
Responsible for working with Professional Services in producing quotes.
Responsible for maintaining an on-going awareness of machine vision & other applicable technologies, advancements and industry trends (ie. periodic review of related industry publications)
Arrange & perform online trials or demonstrations
The position involves approximately 40% travel, both domestically and internationally
Bachelor?s degree in Engineering; EE, Computer focus preferred
Minimum of 5 years of practical Engineering experience; process automation, automated manufacturing experience preferred
Machine vision experience in Pharmaceutical packaging a plus
Working knowledge of management software packages (MS Office, MS Project, etc.) and CRM
Knowledge of the serialization market.
Familiarity with PC-based hardware, control & communication interfacing.
Computer skills and aptitude for quickly learning new software tools and computer hardware
Knowledge of Engineering drawing & working knowledge of ACAD.
Experience in dealing with clients
Must be comfortable in a highly dynamic environment, working with a variety of disciplines
Excellent interpersonal skills

Demonstrates strong analytical and problem solving skills
Possesses strong customer relation skills
