Sales Engineer Dorado Software

The Sales Engineering team at Dorado is responsible for assisting the Sales team in all aspects of the sales process including RFI/RFP, meetings, presentations, demonstrations, lab-trials and installations. Dorado Sales Engineers support the outside, inside and channel/partner sales teams. The SE must have excellent customer relationship skills as well as in-depth network / technical knowledge. Sales Engineers are the primary link between our customers and our product line and corporate resources ensuring customer satisfaction. Sales Engineers report to the Director of Technical Field Operations.
Responsibilities include:
Make sales contacts, research customer needs and develop application of products and services in an effective manner by:
Determining market strategies and goals for each Redcell product and solution.
Adhere to Dorado processes, standards and practices
Obtaining and coordinating data and information from staff and customer groups
Researching and developing lists of potential customers
Doing market research and determine customer needs and providing information to other staff
Evaluating product and service marketability in terms of customers; technical needs
Following up on sales leads and making calls on potential customers
Maintaining up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets
Establishing and maintaining industry contacts that lead to sales
Working with operations and engineering staff to establish a communication path with the customer
Develop and deliver sales presentations, demonstrations and close sales in a professional manner by:
Completely understanding the customer's technical needs and requirements
Developing sales and marketing proposals for customers on technical products and services
Making presentations and demonstrations for clients, OEMs, users, partners, etc.
Performing lab trials and proof-of-concept to clients, OEMs, users, partners, etc.
Developing technical presentations and workshops
Maintaining up-to-date awareness of activities, industry trends & competitive products
Making regular calls to develop relationships and follow up on leads
Establishing long-term, ongoing repeat relationships
Acting to close deals and finalize contacts
Meeting established sales quotas and revenue goals
Resolving problems with products and services audit programs
Participate in development of new products and modification of existing products in an effective and professional manner by:
Evaluating product and service marketability
Recommending new technical products and product modifications or terminations
Gathering analyzing and sharing customer technical information and feedback
Working with other staff to identify future customer needs
Determining customer satisfaction with products and services
Maintaining an up-to-date working knowledge of newly developing technologies and manufacturing practices
Specialized Knowledge or Skill
Bachelors degree in engineering or a related technical field and 4-5 years of field sales experience, or equivalent, required
Hands on Networking and Network Management experience required
Solaris, Linux and Windows OS knowledge
Well developed sales skills
Excellent oral/written communication skills
Well developed presentation skills
Excellent customer relation skills
In-depth knowledge of target market industries
Ability to travel at least 60% of the time
