Sales Engineer BlueStripe Software
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED BlueStripe Software, a Research Triangle Park based start-up recently recognized as a "Cool Vendor in Application Performance Management" by Gartner, is looking for a qualified Sales Engineer to be based in the New York metropolitan area.
The experienced candidate will be responsible for effectively introducing, presenting and demonstrating the BlueStripe Transaction Management solution. This includes providing pre-sales technical / functional support to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction with minimal supervision.
Job Duties Include
Lead and/or assist in coordination and oversight of all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity such as customer meetings and product presentations, demonstrations, evaluations, RFP/RFI responses, etc.
Present and articulate advanced product concepts and features to C-level and technical audiences
Demonstrate technical expertise of BlueStripe products and the environments in which they operate
Work with the account manager or partner to gather customer needs and to develop success criteria leading to a proof of concept
Assist customers with proof of concepts and product evaluations in order to meet the stated success criteria
Provide timely and complete customer-based feedback to product management, sales, marketing, and engineering concerning customer and industry issues
Work with marketing and product management to develop customer-facing deliverables such as presentations and demonstrations
Assist with ongoing account management functions such as creating and presenting customized customer-facing continuing education and support as needed
Demonstrate technical expertise for BlueStripe products and the environments in which they operate
Support marketing efforts as assigned, such as trade shows, user groups, etc.
Coordinate with sales and engineering to help resolve customer product support issues
Help customers with post-sales deployments as needed and successfully position BlueStripe for additional sales opportunities within existing customer accounts
Maintain working knowledge of industry trends, common customer expectations, and competition
Required Skills / Competencies
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or business related field preferred
Five years of pre-sales experience with an emphasis on Application Performance Management
Demonstrated proficiency in at least two multi-user operating systems such as Windows, Linux, Solaris, or AIX
Working knowledge of IP networking and routing
Demonstrated understanding of current system and application architectures such as MQ, PeopleSoft, TIBCO, Java, .Net, Virtualization, relational databases, etc.
Demonstrated understanding of problem triage and resolution methodologies
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to travel as needed
Additional Preferred Skills
Experience working with IT operations groups
Ability to script using Perl, shell, or other scripting language
Experience in a start-up environment
Experience selling within the financial and health care industries
