Reports to: Vice President, Professional Services
PulsePoint?s Technology division is looking for an experienced sales engineer to fill a cross functional role that includes both technical sales supporting a content distribution platform and project management. In order to add an element of continuity to new client experience, the sales engineer that works with a client during the sales cycle then serves as the client?s project manager during onboarding. This adds efficiency to the process, helps build relationships and allows the client to receive the best possible service.
Responsibilities of this role include:
- Working with the sales team in a pre-sales capacity
o Perform technical scoping and set pricing for integration work
o Assisting the sales team with technical product demos and Q&A sessions
o Periodic travel to conduct onsite demos and scoping sessions
o Assisting RFP responses and presenting to prospects
- Project managing client onboarding
o Managing timelines and client expectations
o Coordinating efforts of internal teams
o Facilitating eventual transition to the account executive
Qualifications:
- Strong technology background and an understanding of the SaaS model
- Experience working in client facing environments whether in a sales capacity or as a consultant
- Superior interpersonal, organizational, planning and communication skills and the ability to present complex technical information in a clear, concise and personable manner to customers, employees and management
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work well with engineering team members, customers and senior management
- Ability to travel 25% of the time or as required
- Excellent presentation skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Project management experience
- Bachelor?s degree in business, computer science, MIS or other related area
- Experience with MS Project, Visio and Excel a must
- A working knowledge of SQL, SOAP / XML, DNS, and database structure is a plus
- Experience in email, social media, and SMS is a plus
- Sales experience is a plus
