Purpose
As a member of the sales team the Sales Engineer provides customers and sales
representatives with technical product advice and demonstration support during pre-sales
discussions. Candidates should possess first hand financial reporting experience and have a
clear understanding of the back-office operations of Mutual Fund Companies. This individual
answers both sales team and prospect product questions. Prepares and performs detailed
product demonstrations for prospects. May provide post-sales consulting and follow-up support
relative to technical expectations they helped set. Also, is familiar with and monitors the sales
process and required best practices of sales in the Managed Buying Process. Ability to probe
and create interest and enthusiasm for our software is required. Job requires a willingness to
travel.
Responsibilities
? Performs technical support activities in support of the company?s sales efforts
o Supports product demonstrations with sales team & provides sales department
with technical assistance
o Channel marketing feedback & frequently asked questions back to Product
Development Department
o Executes in accordance with Managed Buying Process best practices
? Maintains and continually upgrades technical understanding of products
and stays current on trends in the financial reporting industry
? Performs post-sale transition and technical support
? Resolves customer and prospect problems
? Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
? Bachelor?s degree in Business or Finance
? Mutual fund back-office or audit experience a plus as is a public accounting background
? 3 ? 5 years technical product support and/or sales engineering experience
? Experience with financial services technologies is preferred
Skills
? Excellent presentation skills
? Ability to explain technical concepts in an easy to understand manner? Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
? Excellent organizational skills and ability to support multiple individuals on different
schedules
? Ability to meet deadlines
? Extensive travel to client sites and other locations is required
