SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:
AOptix products are innovative and highly technical. A critical part of the sakes process involves communicating features and applications effectively, demonstrating our expertise, and interacting with customers' engineering teams to illustrate our solutions. To this end, the technical sales engineer will work in concert with our sales team to tailor marketing materials, build relationships with customers, and act as a representative of AOptix at industry events and meetings.
Support sales opportunities for the AOptix IntelliMax family of products.
Support customer related visits and requests.
Meet with clients independently or with an account manager to discuss their needs, goals and desires.
Describe the solution offering available from AOptix and relate them to the stated needs, goals and desires, as well as observed needs.
Support customer related implementations via personal involvement in the delivery of proposed solutions or working in cooperation with VARs/SIs.
Meeting with customers over the phone, email, or on site to assist in technical aspects of business development.
Delivering technical presentations and demonstrating AOptix differentiated solution at customer meetings, conferences and seminars.
Managing and interpreting customer requirements - speaking with clients to understand, anticipate and meet their needs
Researching options and requesting quotes for outsourced components of projects or custom products
Maintaining records of customer communication and sales activity in our CRM and established internal communication systems.
Working with the engineering team to ensure development schedules and deliveries are being met.
Attending and/or participating in trade shows, conferences and other marketing events.
Searching for new clients who might benefit from company products or services.
Help develop support material for other members of the sales team.
Work closely with Product Line Management and keep them informed of new product requirements as well as act as a bridge between customers and Product Line Management to influence future developments and direction.
Remain competitive in your technical proficiency and in understanding industry trends.
QUALIFICATIONS- KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS- EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical discipline.
Working experience in interacting with customers executive level managers.
Minimum of 7 years professional experiences in telecommunications in a customer facing role .
background in the Wireless Communications industry and familiarity with microwave and millimeter wave and/or optical technology.
Passion for innovation and a strong grasp of wireless technology and constraints.

keen sense of urgency and excellent time management skills.
Start-up experience and the ability to self-motivate, as well as be comfortable with team inter-dependence.
Travel as needed.
Excellent presentation skills.

Working from time to time on rooftops or at cell/tower sites
Able to climb stairs or ladders at least 20 feet.
Lifting at least 20lbs.
