Sales Engineer Metamarkets
Position Overview:
Metamarkets won its first dozen marquee reference clients without hiring a sales team. We are now seeking a top-tier sales engineer to join our founding sales organization. The role of the Sales Engineer will be to assist in the evangelization, sales cycle and deployment of cutting edge big data Analytics as a Service offerings. Leveraging keenly tuned business and technical acumen, the Sales Engineer understands customer business needs and can help them drive revenue by matching them to Metamarkets? unique value proposition while clearly communicating content delivery solutions to prospects. Candidates should enjoy working with high volume streaming data to unlock actionable business insight. The position will work jointly with sales to educate prospective customers about the business advantage of using Metamarkets services?this includes pre- and post-sales tasks such as conference calls, site visits, presentations, technical evaluations, implementation and ongoing technical account management. The Sales Engineer must display the ability to quickly develop expertise in all of the technologies used in Metamarkets stack (our ingestion layer, the Druid datastore, analytics, and our visualization layer) as well as an understanding of client data models and analytic needs in order to apply the proper solutions. Prior knowledge of hadoop and database architectures is preferred.
Based on client feedback and competitive research, you will work closely with R&D and Product Management to develop future product enhancements and strategy. The Sales Engineer will also work with the sales team on the customer proposal process and ensure that all technical responses address prospect needs. The role will support
and educate Sales, Marketing and other internal departments to ensure that customers receive appropriate business oriented solutions. The Sales Engineer must have the ability to strengthen Metamarkets? position as the leading real time analytics system for online marketing. The candidate will introduce new, industry-transforming analytics products within the exploding adtech marketplace and into subsequent verticals.
The initial target market for Metamarkets' offering is within the adtech ecosystem, so an established rolodex and familiarity with the market as well as a proven ability to expand into subsequent markets over your career is a plus. Deal size will range from $10k to $250,000 in recurring monthly revenue and, given a SaaS annuity business, candidates must demonstrate exceptional ability to own all aspects of pre- and post- sale SE relationship. As in all good sales organizations, performance goals must be attained consistently as well as diligent maintenance of weekly meeting schedules, and accuracy of qualified opportunity forecasts.
Required Skills and Experience:
4-6 years experience in a client facing environment such as sales engineering, preferably in a SaaS technology and adtech related business.
Ability to communicate the business benefits of the solution, value proposition and ideas succinctly and be confident and effective at all levels throughout prospect organizations.
Must have experience developing and enhancing strong client relationships.
Engaging phone and in person presence, excelling in questioning and listening to determine customer needs and apply solutions.
Must possess strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills with attention to detail.
Results-oriented, self-motivated, energetic, professional, mature, and reliable
Exceptional ability to juggle large, concurrent volumes of opportunities
Proven team player and works as part of the solution.
Being smart, personable, and aggressive is more important than specific industry skills but some industry familiarity is important.

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills appropriate to both technical and management clients.
The ability to quickly become familiar with Metamarkets? technologies is a must and prior experience with Hadoop, database architectures and distributed systems is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field.
Travel requirements presently light, but could be as high as 20% in the future.
Able to contribute strategically to the growth and direction of company?s commercial offerings
Proven (for NY role) ability to be effective while working remotely from the company?s HQ
