About the Job:
Reporting to sales, our fast-growing Sales Engineering (SE) team consults with customers and prospective customers of the Direct and Channel Sales groups, ensuring they are equipped to successfully implement Twilio's APIs. At the front line of the company, the SE team is directly involved in solving difficult customer problems - from product design advice right through to network troubleshooting. Our team thrives on helping customers ship market-leading solutions built using Twilio.
Sales Engineers on the SE team collaborate with Corporate (inside) Sales Managers, ISV Channel Managers and Enterprise Account Managers, as well as the global customer base that those teams collectively manage. Twilio Sales Engineers are highly competent IT/software generalists.
The Sales Engineer role is predominantly inside-focussed, with occasional travel.
Educate prospects and customers on what is possible with Twilio and the options for implementing common use cases.
Distill customer requirements and make recommendations on the best way to apply Twilio's technology to solve identified problems.
Throughout a customer's implementation, assist developers, product managers and project owners as required.
Prepare demos and proof-of-concepts to demonstrate various use cases for Twilio's APIs. This can generally be performed in your programming language of choice but will occasionally be subject to the environmental requirements of a prospective customer.
Assist developers at debugging Twilio code in a variety of programming languages.
Document the architectural solutions that customers have designed and built under your guidance.
Contribute to RFI and RFP response documents.
Professional experience in a client-facing role.
You are a strong communicator. You feel confident sharing your knowledge in front of a highly skilled and experienced audience.
Professional exposure to software development processes and/or Enterprise IT procurement and implementation.
It would be great if you built a Twilio app yourself before you come in to talk to us (hint, hint).
