Sales ManagerJob DescriptionThe primary purpose of the Sales Manager is to proactively manage the team that sells the Company's software, being core systems to the Insurance Industry, to achieve revenue, sales and profit targets. This includes the frontline approach to new clients and the ongoing relationship management of existing clients for the generation of new and ongoing sales.
Key activities for the Sales manger include:- Work closely with the VP of Sales-The Americas to ensure that business profit and sales goals are aggressively set and consistently met.
- Develop and recommend organizational operating policies and procedures across the global organization.
- Continually assess Guidewire's market position and opportunity and develop strategic business plans aimed at maximizing revenue and profitability and return on invested capital and resources.
- Assist in building and supporting a marketing plan that supports the business plan.
- Tactically assess incoming opportunities and deploy resources consistent with a targeted execution model.
- Review and evaluate, on a continuing basis, the sales group's performance against annual goals.
- Create and execute processes and programs to achieve maximum sales volume potential for products and services
- Create a work environment that continually promotes quality and employee effectiveness, consistently attracts new talent to the business at all levels, and retains key high performers and high potential employees.
- Aggressively lead the Guidewire sales team by “rolling the sleeves up†and providing direct, hands-on leadership both strategically and tactically.
- Act as your team's representative in the marketplace with its major customers, vendors, competitors and the public.
- Deliver practical business support to help the business to achieve its plans and adapt to changing business demands, either deploying your own specialist skills, or calling on the Company's internal network of business professionals.
- Build and sustain solid relationship with all clients' and prospects senior management teams.
- Contribute to strategic discussions with all clients. Articulate how Guidewire products can deliver justifiable business value to clients.
- Build and maintain relationships with key prospects and decision makers.
- Maintain accurate records of contacts and prospects utilizing the Company's systems and procedures.
- Manage post-sale client relationships to maximize product extension sales to existing customers.
- Arrange and participate in technical and sales presentations to clients.
- Maintain a solid knowledge of the Company's underlying technology, the range of existing products and consulting services.
- Analyze competitor products and activities and provide feedback into marketing strategies and product development.
- Prepare detailed quotations and proposals that fully meet client expectations, as well as minimizing risk to the company. Follow Company procedures for quotation review and accept responsibility for the scope, accuracy and winning of these proposals.
- Present regular detailed reports to Management regarding Sales activities and success rates.
- Represent the Company at trade shows, conferences, industry meetings and other avenues to initiate sales of the Company's products
Required skills/experience include:- Minimum 5 years experience with enterprise software
- Extensive experience and knowledge of the Insurance industry preferred
- Thorough understanding of the enterprise sales cycle and show a methodical approach to moving opportunities through this cycle
- Well developed oral communication, liaison and representation skills
- Well developed writing skills and the ability to proof read own material and that of others.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to analyze market trends and business data to identify new market potential.
- Fluent in English
- Fluent in Spanish (desired but not required)
