Sales Operations Associate Blu homes
Blu Homes is seeking exceptional candidates for the position of Sales Operations Associate, based in Blu?s Greater Los Angeles sales territory. The new Sales Operations Associate will work with the Southern California Sales team to close new business, design innovative processes and technology tools, and manage our growing customer base through the home design and purchasing process. Southern California is Blu?s fastest growing market and the new hire will have the opportunity to work with some of our top sales people to successfully achieve high growth in 2013 and beyond!
Blu Homes is a fast growing innovative technology startup aiming to change landscape of the housing market with best-in-class precision built green houses. Using a uniquely integrated business model, and deeply proprietary information and building science technology, Blu empowers homeowners to design their homes with a free online 3-D configurator. The houses then are built in a Blu factory using a proprietary steel framing system that offers unique beauty, environmental performance and strength, delivered to sites nationwide, and finished by Blu teams. Ultimately, Blu?s mission is to provide home buyers and institutions worldwide with green buildings that are high quality, healthy, beautiful, and economical.
Candidates should embrace technology and be sharp, mature, down to earth, fun, good communicators, high energy, have a ?sense of urgency?, and excitement and understanding of startup culture. Applicants with an interest or understanding of growing a technology startup company are preferred.
Key responsibilities:
Supporting Southern California Sales Consultants with client documentation management, contract pricing and estimating, design requirements and home specification choices;
Accompanying Sales Consultants on regional sales calls, with occasional travel to Blu?s San Francisco office and Vallejo, CA, factory;
Achieving expert status on a range of technical and production information related to Blu homes, including but not limited to energy efficiency systems, materials & finishes and operational processes;
Working with the Sales Operations leadership team to define and implement internal processes and new technology tools for our growing sales team;
Assisting as needed at lead generation events such as design seminars and open houses, including some weekend events.

Ability to travel for regional Southern California sales calls and events;
Self-confidence and poise in working with clients and outside groups;
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
Interest and proclivity for learning technical information about home-building and Blu?s proprietary technology;
Digital native; comfortable using new computer applications and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and PowerPoint;
Personable, friendly, and down to earth manner;
Enthusiastic about collaborating to grow sales at a high tech green home startup;
Ability to ?scale? with company and an interest in long-term career opportunities at Blu.
Experience:
3-5+ years working experience; background in technology sales and/or start-ups preferred;
Minimum bachelor?s degree.
