The Sales Operations Specialist works cross-functionally with several organizations (including Sales, Marketing, Product Marketing, Finance and Professional Service) with the primary objective of enabling Sales leadership to make effective, analytically driven, and strategic operating decisions. The position demands a high-level understanding of process and procedures that drive a successful Sales team combined with solid written and verbal communication skills.
Gather requirements, prioritize, and develop automated sales reports/dashboards and analytics to enable business decisions and assist in identifying trends.
Handle ad-hoc reporting requests in the CRM system.
Track on-going sales trends by performing sales data analysis.
Work closely with the Sales Deal Desk to implement and maintain sales processes in the chosen CRM solution and integrated 3rd party tools.
Collaborate with Sales Deal Desk team to provide ongoing training and assistance to the field related to the CRM system and related tools.
Maintain process documentation and update document repository as needed with relevant sales materials.
Administer the effective use of all tools that enable the Sales management team to accurately forecast bookings and revenue projections.
Advise the field on pricing, order form creation, approval processes, company processes and procedures.
Review, research and respond to requests to enable a shorter, more efficient sales cycle.
Proactively identify areas for improved communication to the sales team regarding process, pricing, or policy changes.
Partner with internal stakeholders to drive process improvement in the quoting and approval process.
Provide hands-on training, webinars and documentation to facilitate system and process ease of use for the field.
Meet regularly with key stakeholders to review processes and make recommendations for improvement.
Liaison between Sales and other departments; ensure the integrity of Sales information available through various system and reporting structures
Liaison with Salesforce.com administrator to ensure continued data integrity in the CRM system
2+ years of experience in a software company, preferably in sales operations or similar role.
Understanding of business practices related to Sales Operations processes and systems.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities.
Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, energetic team player.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office, with particular emphasis on MS Excel.
Experience using a CRM System (such as Salesforce.com).
