This position is responsible for managing advertising sales accounts, preparing responses for RFP?s, sales presentations, and supporting the advertising sales teams efforts, while working closely with the entire sales & media operations team. As the Sales Planner for HotChalk, in Campbell, CA your primary mission will be to enable the sales team to effectively present our solutions and products to our clients. This exciting role will focus on expanding into new business opportunities and maintaining close relationships with existing clients. Previous online media experience will be helpful as you help on-board new advertisers. Because you have amazing interpersonal and communication skills, you'll enjoy providing all of HotChalk?s advertisers with an exceptional level of one-on-one customer service. And lastly, you'll get to leverage your organizational and time management skills to efficiently manage HotChalk processes and effectively support the sales and media organization. This is a hands-on position that entails multi-tasking, working across multiple time zones , and working with multiple teams at HotChalk, and providing critical sales support to continuously meet the needs of our advertisers and the sales team. Responsibilities:
Responsible for working with sales to build well-balanced, attractive media plans and proposals which will deliver superior results for our clients.
Provide research and analysis support for the development of new business opportunities and evaluation of competitors.
Analyze competitive activity in the marketplace.
Keep abreast of industry trends.
Coordinate post and pre sales initiatives with other departments.
Maintain awareness of campaign performance analyses and optimizations.
Collaborates with sales and sales development team to answer of RFPs.
Obtain IOs from client and assist in correcting any errors.
Ensure a good working relationship with operations team to facilitate flawless execution of plans.
Customer Support -- i.e. plan changes, budget changes, provide marketplace information.
Collaborate on the development of marketing and product collateral as needed.
Identify and communicate best practices to ensure advertisers realize the full potential from their relationship with HotChalk.
Proactively identify needs and opportunities for additional HotChalk advertising products and services.
Desired Skills & Experience
2-3 years of agency side media planning or media side sales support experience within an internet advertising environment required (network familiarity highly desired).
Solid understanding of online advertising, including pricing structures (CPM, CPC, CPA, CPL), media types (e.g., display, mobile, social, email, etc?), technologies, and trends; and the ability to translate this knowledge into solutions for clients.
Working knowledge of online metrics and research tools (e.g., comScore, SalesForce).
Familiarity with 3rd party ad serving systems.
Proficiency with Powerpoint, MS Excel, MS Word, and CRM programs.
Strong track record of meeting and exceeding objectives.
Strong media negotiation skills.
Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem solving and analytic abilities.
