Second Sight is searching for a highly experienced, self-starting and motivated Sales
Representative. This is a unique sales and account management position for a major
breakthrough product having achieved global recognition and awards for world class
innovation and engineering excellence.
? Providing the highest level of professional sales and account management to the
top ophthalmic academic center and hospitals in the USA will be your focus, in
addition to developing long term relationships with Key Opinion Leaders in the
highly specialized area of surgical retina.

will be required to build and implement a customized sales strategy with supporting
processes to ensure successful commercialization.
? You will lead the sales strategy but work closely with the marketing and supports
teams team to facilitate the commercial launch of the product in the USA.
? Expertise will be required in all aspects of company technology, to include scientific
and clinical knowledge, company operations strategies and policies, surgery, and
? You will report directly to the Vice President in charge of sales and marketing
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
? Represent the company at all times as a sales leader, product expert and
? Manage the existing customer base, facilitate orders, and ensure timely service
and response. Maintain these relationships on an ongoing basis.
? Recruit potential new customers (doctors and hospitals) - research, analyze and
monitor financial, technological, regulatory and demographic factors so that market
opportunities may be capitalized on.
? Arrange appointments with doctors, hospital staff and patient support groups when
? Deliver compelling presentations to the above groups offering both educational
(disease) product and reimbursement information.
? Develop and understand the ?decision making process? in each target hospital to
ensure maximum efficiency of resources and time management
? Facilitate and attend surgeries to provide guidance
? Implement new sales procedures where appropriate.
? Coordinate all issues including training, sales, service, support, and
reimbursement/ insurance authorization.
o Bachelor?s degree in Science, Engineering, or Marketing
? Experience Required:
o 5-10 years experience in Medical Device Sales/Marketing
o Sales and Marketing experience with ophthalmic devices ? premium
priced or highly innovative ?disruptive?; technology a distinct advantage.
? Required Knowledge:
o Product launch experience working with marketing and other support teams
o Knowledge of Reimbursement essential
o Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office
? Travel Requirements:
o Must be able to travel International/Domestic 50-70% of time.
