A Sales Support Engineer will design and own the implementation of the reference implementation and Cloud-based demo platforms to showcase SailPoint?s products. This position (part of our Sales Engineering Organization) plays an important role in the successful setup, implementation, maintenance, and improvements within our Sales Engineering infrastructure and artifacts used by the Sales Engineering Team. This environment is used to support the sales process through proof of concepts (POCs), technical demo?s, and additional supporting infrastructure for the team.
The Sales Engineering Reference Implementation (SERI) is a highly standardized, version-controlled collection of pre-built use cases that highlight the capabilities of SailPoint?s flagship product, IdentityIQ. SERI is continually being maintained and extended as new features are added to IdentityIQ. It is foundational to the technical selling efforts of the SE team and SailPoint?s partner channels.
Skytap is our 3rd-party provider for Cloud infrastructure and used extensively to scale our demo environments and proof-of-concept efforts across the global SE team.
Areas of Responsibility
Ownership of delivering technical selling artifacts for 3rd party integrations. Will own the process of:
Receiving new integration artifacts from engineering,
Establishing a repeatable demo environment in SERI/Skytap,
Working with corporate to ensure that we have adequate access to sell the component. (ie active system, licenses, etc)
Working with Product Management to compile and document the newfound RFP requirements,
Working with Product Management to compile and document the new demo scenarios,
Working with Product Management to compile and document the new POC use cases.
Conduct ongoing review/maintenance of SERI artifacts; ensure SERI standards are being followed
Run manual and automated tests as part of upgrades to new versions of IdentityIQ
Work backlog of SERI improvements and enhancements
Track usage, document available configurations, basic user administration
Manage delivery of new Templates/Configurations for consumption by the Sales Engineering team
Skill Set Required
Java development skills (2-3 years of experience in development role)
Working knowledge of XML, LDAP and JDBC technologies
Experience with version control systems like Subversion and Git
Solid Unix/Linux administration skills
Comfortable with Active Directory administration and configuration. (multi-domain forests, etc)
Skilled with use and setup of VM environments, specifically VMware
Knowledgeable regarding AuthN/AuthZ, Identity Federation
Well versed in Identity Management/Administration life cycle
Position is based at HQ in Austin, TX. This position requires approximately 10% travel.
Must have a Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent degree. J2EE certification is a plus.
