Job Description:
We are seeking a highly analytical and passionate Salon Product Marketing Manager to join our fast-growing Marketing team in our NYC office. The objective of this position is to create the salon market strategy and product positioning for our SalonBooker offering. This role is responsible for becoming the salon subject matter expert, defining our value proposition and messaging, and analyzing the salon market to make SalonBooker the industry standard for beauty professionals managing their businesses. Reporting to our VP of Marketing, you will have the opportunity to own Booker?s salon market strategy and lead a cross-functional team across sales, marketing, and product management, to achieve salon market dominance.
Responsibilities:
Become the salon market and technology subject matter expert by understanding the salon industry?s goals, challenges, buying criteria, and segmentation.
Conduct market and customer research to identify opportunities for new features or enhancements to the product.
Become the voice of the customer by effectively soliciting input from all groups and communicating feedback to product management for the development of the SalonBooker product roadmap.
Plan and manage the cross-functional implementation and launch of new salon features and enhancements to all departments.
Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates SalonBooker in the market.
Communicate the value proposition of SalonBooker to the sales, marketing, and BD teams and produce tools that support the selling process?thought leadership content, collateral, presentations, competitive briefs, training materials, case studies, etc.
Create and maintain SalonBooker KPI and Feature Usage Dashboard and contribute to quarterly forecasts and status updates to management.
Contribute to setting pricing and continually examine opportunities for simplification and competitiveness while maintaining/growing profitability.
Support the acquisition marketing team with messaging, market intelligence, offer creation, and content development.
Manage and develop relationships with industry experts, including analysts, consultants, association leaders, trade journalists, etc.
Develop and maintain a thorough competitive landscape that is both comprehensive and adaptable to sales training.
Requirements:
5+ years in a similar role at a company where the salon industry was the primary focus.
Exceptional understanding of the salon industry, specifically salon owners and operations.
Experience in the web, technology, or software industries.
Ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into customer benefits.
Experience working with a sales team.
Experience marketing to small businesses.
Experience as a people manager or team lead a plus.
Ability to think outside of the box and present creative solutions.
Ability to work with limited direction to satisfy high-level business objectives.
Bachelor?s degree required (MBA and/or Business Degree is preferred).
Experience building financial models, forecasts, and cost analysis.
Execution-oriented with a passion for marketing and a drive for results.
