We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of SAN Administrator at our corporate office located in Atlanta, GA. (NOTE ? local candidates only, no relocation provided)
PRINCIPLE PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The SAN Administrator architects and manages enterprise SAN storage systems to support business services. The role is primarily responsible for the availability, reliability, and performance of enterprise storage systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary Responsibilities
Service Design and Transition
Architects and designs storage solutions based upon best practices with repeatable standard configurations.
Designs storage solutions with a focus on the long term and operational maintainability.
Designs resilient solutions that mitigate failures which impact production services.
Configures robust solutions based upon business requirements to ensure reliability and availability of business services.
Tests changes prior to production implementation.
Documents system configurations.
Service Operations
Designs and implements provisioning processes to quickly allocate storage for operational and development needs.
Architects disk level replication and assists in backup and recovery processes and procedures.
Creates proactive monitoring services to capture and report availability and performance characteristics. Remediates performance issues.
Automates system monitoring and notification processes.
Manages SAN capacity planning and produces reports for IT management.
Maintains configuration and applies software patches and fixes to SAN solutions.
Configures and maintains SAN fabric and network configuration.
Leads Incident and Problem Management for issues with SAN solution technology or services including management of Vendor technical support.
Adheres to Change Management and Release Management policy.
Project Support
Provides technical expertise and architectural guidance for SAN systems.
Estimates level of effort and creates action plans for project deliverables.
Meets project deliverables and documents solutions based upon project needs.
Communicates and transfers knowledge to peers and project team members.
Business Support
Communicates effectively with both IT and business users.
Interfaces with peer groups such as production control, database administration, and service desk/help desk for incident and problem management.
Other Related Responsibilities
Rotates in on call duties providing off hours troubleshooting and support.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to convert business requirements and project plans to actionable items.
Strong technical background in Hitachi SAN storage solutions.
Service oriented.
Prior health plan operations experience helpful.
Communicates with ease up and down the chain of leadership.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Professional with ability to properly handle confidential information
Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor Degree (or higher) preferred in computer science, management information science, electrical engineering, mathematics or related field required.
7-10 years? experience in administration of enterprise-class Hitachi SAN solutions in production/operational environments - USPV, AMS, and VSP.
3-5 years? experience in working with AIX LPAR and VIO configurations.
3-5 years? experience working with AIX or Unix RDBMS servers - Oracle and/or DB2.
2-4 years? experience working with project or development teams to support infrastructure needs.
Experience provisioning to VMWare environments.
Demonstrable knowledge of all aspects of SAN administration including provisioning, configuration, security, networking, backup and recovery processes, performance management/tuning and system monitoring.
JOB DEMANDS:
Must be able to sit and use a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
Must be in the office the majority of business hours.
Must be on-call for operational support on a rotating basis with the Systems Operations team.
Some after- hours/weekend work required when necessary to meet client or project deliverables.
Travel is not required for the position; however, some travel for training or client support might arise.
Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs without assistance
KEY CONSTITUENTS:
Primary interaction with systems operations staff including Oracle Database administration, AIX administration, RHEL Administration, Production Control, Service Desk personnel and Software Development Staff.
Interfaces with internal business users for managed IT services.
Active participant in IT Operations, IT Software Development, and IT Project groups (as assigned).
This is a full time, permanent position and cannot support Visa sponsorship.
