Position Summary:
The SAP Basis Administrator is a critical role within the Business Applications team at LANDesk. This person will ensure that SAP components, software upgrades, and related technologies are approved and effectively installed to maximize the security and reliability of the SAP operating environment across the organization. The SAP Basis Administrator will also be tasked with the development, maintenance, and testing of contingency plans, hardware maintenance, and lifecycle planning for the software, security, and hardware and networking assets affecting SAP. These assets would include backups, disaster recovery, high availability, system copies/refreshes; and kernel/hot pack/enhancement pack upgrades. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Business Applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Monitor and effectively manage all capacity planning for the SAP environment
Investigate and resolve remote connection failures, process session bottlenecks, and authorization errors
Plan, recommend, and monitor SAP Administration (Basis) practices and procedures
Plan, recommend, and monitor SAP security practices and procedures
Create and manage SAP security roles and user access
Perform daily monitoring of system performance and capacities
Support functional analysts in testing activities as enhancements or configuration changes are made in the SAP environment
Manage transports between all SAP environments, i.e. development to production
Manage and monitor all authorized technical functions in the SAP environment
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills and Experience:
Prefer three (3) to five (5) years of experience in SAP Basis and Security Administration processes and components for SAP ECC 5.0 or 6.0
SAP Oracle Database experience
Detailed knowledge of SAP support for security audits
Basis experience in Managing SAP Business Warehouse administration workbench, authorization and tuning
Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager and other SAP workbench tools is a plus
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Excellent time management, decision making and organization skills
Must be able to work well with others as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Two (2) full life cycles of implementation and upgrade project experience
SAP Basis Certification
Prefer strong technical skills in SAP installations, upgrades, systems copy, and SAP performance tuning, authorization setup, TMS administration, applying patches (SAP and OS), backup and restore, etc.
Education/Licensing/Certification:
BS in Computer Science or a related field
