About the role:
As the Satellite Calibration Lead at Skybox Imaging, you will lead the team responsible for ensuring that Skybox captures the highest quality imagery and data from our cutting-edge space-based imaging platforms.
You will help plan and execute the post-launch calibration and validation of our imaging payloads including performing the real-time problem identification, anomaly detection, investigation and resolution. This is a hands-on leadership role; you will manage a team of two calibration engineers, one focused on geodetic calibration and one focused on image quality calibration. Your work will involve a unique blend of research and data analysis, development of software tools, operational support, and cross-functional team coordination.
Skills and Experience:
M.S. or higher in Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
Deep understanding of optical systems, photogrammetry, estimation theory, and algorithm development, radiative transfer, and data analysis
Experience leading teams, preferable in a satellite operational setting
Proficiency in high-level scripting languages (Matlab & Python preferred)
